Valentines Day Blog!

Hello :D

Hope everyone had a fun Valentines Day! And to all that are bitter about it, I guess theres always Easter. I tried to release my Ice Cream Sundae Vol. 2 Mixtape on the 14th, but failed. To try and release 2 mixtapes in 1 week is something else. Hopefully it will be release this weekend. I can't wait for you to listen to it because people have been buggin' me since the 1st edition with 112. Just don't blame me if someone gets preggo. I'm just sayin' because the stories I've heard with Pt. 1 ......yeah..

Since Valentines Day just passed I thought I would share my thoughts around it. Recently, I was asked if I knew what LOVE is. I told her yes. I've been in and out of love before, I know how it feels, its a emotion, a feeling, you just know when you're in love, or love someone. As strongly as I felt with my answer, I wasn't 100% content with it. Something seemed left out. The dictionary states that LOVE is - a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person. I guess I was right. When you have that profoundly affectionate feeling for someone, well that's love, and pretty much you are in love. But it's too simple for something so complicated, and deeply rooted. I now know that i wasn't confident with my answer because I was only 50% right. Love is not just a feeling. It's about going that extra mile for someone, letting your guard down, letting your pride go, assuring them with your affection and feelings towards them, trusting them with no doubts, being honest with them, never giving up on each other, compromise, respect, neutral sided arguments, not doing things you don't want done to you, communicating about anything and everything, and never get too comfortable and treat her/him like your first date. I think when you lose these elements of love, it will determine how healthy the relationship is, and even determine how long it will last. It may seem like it's a lot to ask for, or do, but it's for that 1 most important person in your life. It was never meant to be something so simple or easy. That's why being divorced is so common. It's funny how there's so many people that are bitter about V-Day, because they feel that it should be every day when you're with that person, and not just that one special day. I don't think those people really know what it takes, and how hard it is to maintain a relationship. I think Valentines Day will always be a great day to rejuvenate, or remind what they mean to each other. Love is a great feeling!, don't be scurrrred to fall into it, and give it your all!

Hey!

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a good time over the holidays, and is pumped for 2011.

People always ask me why I don't drink, and I often always get this question when holiday events or the birthday comes around. It's not like I never tried it before, but at the end of the day, it's not really my cup of tea. I grew up with a semi alcoholic Dad so that turned me off big time. Also growing up playing competitive sports I stayed away from substance, drugs and alcohol. Now more importantly I don't because of health. I'm a loosely health conscious type of guy, so being in this industry I understand it can get nasty. Im offered too many free comped bottles & drinks from club owners, promoters, club gowers and friends, and being in the clubs 4 times a week that can lead to so many issues later on in my life not including the stupid decisions I would be making as a drunk. But then again I'm not self righteous about this at all, it's just ME.

So this one time, nye 1999, I had 3 shots and 3 glasses of champagne. I was gonzo. Trying to DJ at this state was another issue. I went on and blacked out for like 4 and half minutes until the song was fading out. LOL. As I was quickly putting on another record, I said to myself NEVER AGAIN! It was quite amusing. Til this day friends will pay a million dollars to see me SMASHED. Who knows, maybe one day someone will get lucky and see me crunk til I can't walk ;).

My friend messaged me today saying, "Remember my dog that I loved so much?, well she got run over by a car over the holidays and passed so I really hate the start of 2011 right now!" This reminded me once again to never take things, people or animals for granted. I spent time with the people I love over the holidays in Toronto, Canada. It was refreshing and comforting. Now that it's 2011, I know that my parents arnt getting any younger, so I try and cherish all moments with them. My parents can get annoying at times, like most parents do, but I open my mind wide enough to let anything go, because theres no room for bitterness or hate in life. When someone leaves our world, they are gone, and the only thing that keeps them alive within us is the memories you've created with them. So think about that the next time you see someone you care for, it will also enlighten the way you are as a person too.

2011, I'm gonna try and make things bigger and improve on myself as a whole.. Build good relationships with new people. Keep in touch with good relationships I already have. Open my mind even more. Excel on my career by, brush up on music theory, music production, syndicated radio, and DJing. Never give up on anything including my new project. And lastly make sure I'm enjoying life while trying to accomplish these goals. So how about you? any new year resolutions?

Christmas Blog

Hello.

It's December, and that means its Christmas madness. I still remember gettin' that Transformer I always wanted from my parents, or that GI Joe from Santa. As I got older, I got lesser gifts, but Christmas is such a joyful time of the year, and til this day it still makes me the happiest. Coming from Toronto, Canada, I was accustomed to having a white Christmas. I always thought it was weird watching certain Christmas movies that took place in LA or Miami and there wasn't any snow. Being in Atlanta now, it's the same story so I miss SNOW very much! I can't wait to see my family and friends back home.

Whenever December hits I'm always reminded that time is slipping. Not slipping in a bad way, but realizing that time is flying, and that life is short! Now that I look back on all the Christmas's I've encountered, I can see how much I've grown from all the different gifts I've received from others. It went form toys to video games to clothing to cologne to higher end brands to money and then to more sentimental gifts. Now, I give more gifts than receiving, but I'm not complaining. I have come a long way looking back at this, and realized how much I've grown as a person. Back in my high school days during the Christmas holidays, I remember having a heart to heart with a friend of mine and she asked, "What quality within yourself would you like to improve on or change?". I gave her the answer that I needed to get over my shyness and even though my answer was true, because being shy got me nowhere fast, I realize now that there was something bigger than that. When she first asked me the question, I honestly couldn't think of anything right away. Not because I thought I was perfect, but I honestly thought I had my life under control and I made the right decisions based on my experiences. I gained a lot of knowledge throughout my life, but I made a critical mistake. I shoulda been asking this question to myself every year to remind myself that I'm not perfect and know everything about anything. If you ask me this question now, I confess that I have many things that I need to improve on or change. PRIDE. Actually my Dad's pride is the worst, and maybe it brushed off on to me, but who knows. We both think we can do everything on our own and our way is the better way. I never thought I was this person all these years, but I was. It saddens me to think how I brushed off on others, especially the ones that matter to me the most. Recently I had to go through one of the roughest patches in my life, and it all stemmed from my attitude and pride. From the time my high school friend asked me the question, It angers me to think that I could of started working on my pride issues since then. BUT I had so much pride at the time that I neglected the problem. I was reminded recently that my old ways were unhealthy. I could burn a lot of bridges and relationships this way. I should know more than anyone that teamwork is a key element to success. My growth on my whole entire music career is based on not just all the hard work I put in, but with the combination of hard work from my team, friends, family, associates and fans. I am embarrassed to carry certain qualities that I'm not proud of, but I'm glad I got to share my story with you. I'm not perfect and I'll never let my issues get the best of me. I promise to never slip again, and improve on my flaws to become a better person. Please don't lose faith in me. I love you!

Hey!

How was your Thanksgiving? I had two dinners! ..and YES, I'm FAT! Maybe thats why I've been on a 24 hour gummi bear diet lately, because I'm still full. Thank you for supporting in everything I do. The mountain of opportunities and obstacles grows everyday, but thanks to you the climb is so much easier. It's not easy reaching a dream or a goal alone, so I'm not afraid to ask for help. To stay motivated, interested, and focused, I always think about why I started everything. It all comes down to LOVE. Not just for the love of music, but loving LIFE. To appreciate your surroundings and people that care for you will always lead you to the right path. When I get lost, I think about the one person I really look up to....my Dad. The relatives and family were against the idea of him leaving Japan. Despite his families wishes, he left having only a couple bucks in hand, and after years of hard work he accomplished so much in which I could only salute to. He made it because he thought outside the box and took a chance of a life time to enhance an opportunity that most are too scared to do. People always say, "we only live once", so why not excite our lives a little bit more, and do what most wont do, or too scared to do. You can't wait for opportunities, you have to make them. Do you like having the same meal everyday?, because I sure dont. You have to believe that you are special, and that you have a unique life that only you have witnessed, and experienced. So why not create a more exciting story instead of maintaining a simple one. Even kids can take so much of the ol' "Once upon a time" story before they get BORED. Hey, well it's been working for me, and I'm sure it can help you too, because I love my life! So thank you all for being there for me.

MONDAY
last min call was made to me to DJ at a club, predominantly Afro-American night. Basically a Hip Hop night, or they a "Black" night.

rush to the club cuz I'm suppose to go on in 10 min.
get to the front of the club with my friend Allen, where theres a pretty long line up and we encounter the 300lbs, 6'3" bouncer.

Allen points at me and says "Hey, he's DJin' tonight"

Babypoo smiles

Bouncer has a confused look and says "You're DJin' tonight?"

Allen "Ya, can you let us in please"

Bouncer has a face like someone took a dump on his foot and the stench is crushing his face and says "YOU're DJIN'???"

Babypoo says "aahh ya, I'm DJ'in tonight"

Bouncer looks me up and down like some pin up model posted up in someones jail cell and says "YOU? You're DJin' tonight? are you sure?"

Babypoo says "YES I'm sure"

there was a good 5 second pause

Babypoo says with a smile and points at the bouncer "NOW THATS RACIAL PROFILING"

Bouncer looks at Babypoo like he just saw a ghost and says "Man....you're right, I appologize, god damn I never seen you before so..."

Babypoo walks in and mumbles "sure you never seen me before lol racist! never seen a Japboy kill a black party before?"

Hockey is my fav sport, so I gotta keep up. Had scholarship offers in Ivy Schools in Japan and Buffalo, but never took it seriously enough for me to pursue them. My passion was music anyways. Playing hockey in ATL ain't the best, but it will do for now. Had Shinny today. Meaning, group of random guys get together and organize a friendly game vs. each other. Half way in the game dude named steven comes up to me.

Steve "Hey where did you used to play?"

Babypoo "I only played Jr B in Toronto, thats bout it, you?"

Steve "Oh I played Jr B in Victoria as well"

Babypoo "Ok cool"

Steve "Hey I'm gonna play for Life University (Known for a good program in Chiropractor-ing) they are D-2 school, would you like to play with us if they offered you a scholarship and paid you?"

Babypoo thinks to himself...ok I graduated at Univ. of Toronto almost 7 years ago, I hated school, but this is a fun idea......oh shit I forgot, I already have a job in music traveling around the world...lol

Steve "All you have to do is take couple of courses thats it, the easy ones..and you will be taken care of, all good, I'll get your number, and just think about it. It will be fun"

2012 geophysical and cosmological speculations

John Major Jenkins and others claim that an alignment will occur when the sun rises above the horizon on December 21 2012, at which point the sun will rise in the middle of the Milky Way Galaxy, thus causing an alignment between the earth, sun, and the galactic center. It is claimed that this event will cause numerous changes on Earth. However, the event is only a visual phenomenon from the earth's perspective, which is caused by the precession of the equinoxes or the 26,000 year wobble of the earth, and thus only changes our perspective, not the actual position of the earth in relation to the galaxy. In short, there is no gravitational force or radiation to be expected from this event because other than the tilt of the earth, nothing will be any different from what occurs in any other solstice.

There are also claims such as those of Michael Tsarion that an actual physical alignment of our entire solar system will occur with the horizontal plane of the Milky Way Galaxy on that day. The solar system is moving around the center of the galaxy every 225 million years or so, and while doing so is moving up and down in a cycle crossing the plane every 33 million years. According to the Journal Nature, however, there is evidence of the solar system crossing the galactic plane 3 million years ago. This would mean that we are moving away from the galactic plane, not toward it, and we will not be due to cross it for another 30 million years.

There are also theories that a currently unknown planet, sometimes referred to as planet x or Nibiru, which supposedly has an odd orbit that only enters the local solar system every 3600 years will return in 2012 causing many problems. The idea is traced back to Zecharia Sitchin's translations of Sumerian texts, and specifically to his interpretation of the VA 243 cylinder seal, which he says shows that the Sumerians knew of 12 planets (sun, moon, and ten others). This idea has been challenged by his peers, most notably Michael Heiser.

Among other possible scenarios is that a shift of the Earth's magnetic poles may occur, and that this will leave the earth vulnerable to harmful radiation from the sun. According to NASA magnetic pole reversal does not occur on a particular day or year, but over the course of thousands of years. Furthermore, the magnetic field does not vanish during this natural cycle, but becomes more complex as it makes the transition.

Some proponents of the pole shift scenario claim that this shift would be a physical movement of the poles of the earth, and not simply a magnetic shift. This event is called a true polar wander. Earth has experienced a few degree shift in the past, but nowhere near a reversal, and there is no reason to suggest this is likely or even possible. According to William Sager, a Texas A&M Oceanographer, a slight shift in the physical pole occurs at a rate between 5 and 10 degrees per million years, which means that this event could not happen on a particular day or year but only over a long period of time.

Aspen, Colorado was a dream to snowboard in, since the movie Dumb and Dumber and a bunch of other 80's movies. Didn't end up in Aspen, but Vail was close enough. I've skiied in Switzerland and nothing beats that! I had fun, who wants to vacay next?

Commonly used lines by role models : if you put your mind to it..and put 100% dedication in to it, you can accomplish anything. It's great advice going out to little kids and anyone that have dreams that they wanna accomplish. What any role model is trying to say is that, not everyone gets a fair chance to get to where they wanna be, but I made it so.... so can you, with a BIG MAYBE at the end which they say to themselves in their minds.

Heres a couple of analogies.
Fat and ugly white R&B singer, that wants to be the next USHER.
A group of Asian R&B singers, that wants to be the next DESTINY'S CHILD.
Ice hockey player from Thailand, that wants to be the next Wayne Gretzky.
An African American, that wants to be the next PRESIDENT.

Before the election, you would sit here and look at this list and say, "It's near impossible for them to reach their goals, even after a inspirational speech from Hitler in WWI and WWII to his troops before battle." The thing is, it's not impossible, it's just that these particular people have DIFFERENT AND MORE OBSTACLES to face, compared to the people that are subjectively stereotyped to reaching certain goals. DJ Baby Yu Metromix Week 49 (Nov 2-Nov 6/08) - Mix 1

Radio is a very sketchy industry. One could be a well respected Program Director for a station and be laid off for lack of performance the next month. You're talking to a DJ who had shows on CHRY 105.5 FM, FLOW 93.5 FM, and KISS 92.5 FM. Also a DJ who was ready to host and DJ a Summer Jam for a radio station that featured Jay-Z & 50 Cent, and actually being laid off a week before the concert due to format change of radio station. One minute, you heard "50 Cent - In Da Club", and the next song was "Pet Shop Boys - Go West". Stations are always fighting for their shares in the market, and it all comes down to their report card at the end of every season. If it bombs enough, they will switch or changes will be made. I've been with XM close to 5 years now. The City XM 67 was great for me. I got emails from small town listeners like from Idaho, Dakota, Virginia etc...Places I would probably never visit. So it covered a lot of places for me. Since the merge with XM & Sirius Satellite Radio, both stations had to cancel over 50 channels from both sides that were similar to each other including my channel, THE CITY XM 67. I had fun making mixes for you, but this will be the final one for THE CITY XM 67. The good news is, the quest for DJ Baby Yu & radio will never end. I love radio, and that guarantee new things will arise soon. The new XM Sirius Satellite Radio hasn't heard the last of me yet. More to come, stay tuned!

In 1988, The Prime Minister of Canada, Brian Mulroney actually gave Reparation Cheques of $21,000 to every Japanese-Canadian that lived during WW2, for wrongfully robbing, deporting and mistreating them. The Native Americans and Canadians had their land stolen and most of their population slaughtered in the 16-1800's by force and small pox by the NEW Americans. They get taken care of til this day, with cheques and free tax and free school and health etc.

I must say it was a inspiring speech to the nation. Couple of things I wanna remind you, and point out.

1. Obama is half white. Just like Tiger Woods, he's a half-breed. People should refer to Tiger Woods as the first Asian Golf Player to be this successful, but he's usually referred to as the most successful BLACK golfer mostly because of the media. Theres no BOLD point to this, but maybe this race issue will give minorities more hope with Obama. He's African + White + from a low-income family + Muslim faith + Christian faith = a more broader understanding of a multicultural AMERICA. Definitely a President for the PEOPLE.

2. Oprah and Rev. Jesse Jackson was so emotional, they cried during Obama's speech?! The Afro-Americans were so happy, I thought their favorite team won the superbowl. I understand for one because they understand how hard the Obama family & their campaign has worked to achieve this massive goal. It's obvious, anyone would be thrilled and excited for anyone after a long fought battle like this. Also because Obama is the first BLACK (half white) President, so theres a celebration of Afro-American pride, especially after their long history of slavery and racism. Maybe thats why they are so emotional. Or maybe it's becase Obama promises change....Ah..hmmmmmm! I think it's because of the whole race thing because if fellow democrat Hilary Clinton who promised change as well got elected as President, I have a feeling that it wouldn't be this emotional. At the end, CHANGE is what the US needs.

3. Just because the race of a President changes, the objective doesn't change. Every President will do whats best for their country in their generation whether if you're BLACK, WHITE, YELLOW, GREEN etc. With the record breaking number of minorities that voted for this years election, multiculturalism & immigration is becoming more eminent in the United States of America like how it's suppose to be. This is how every election should be.

4. Please don't blame BUSH for anything. YOU, The American voted for him didn't you? And for the people that didn't vote, you were robbed. The chance of over throwing Bush off the Presidency was 4 years ago, and it wasn't done so no one can blame BUSH for all the fucked-up things that are going on in the US today. Even Diddy tried so hard to get especially the minorities and the young voters to vote and still didn't work. Whether if Senator Kerry wasn't a good candidate at the time or not, it doesn't matter, US wouldn't be in such a mess regardless.

4. Why are the Canadians so excited about Barack Obama being elected? LOL ..I don't know.. It has nothing to do with us..LOL..or does it? Well maybe it does moraly, thats for sure. But at the end of the day I have a feeling we wouldn't be as excited as Canadians if a Afro-French speaking Canadian was elected as Prime Minister. Face it our election is so boring. LOL.

5. I invested money in to property in the US. Obama, I give you 3 years to make me money! :)

OK, the craziest Halloween party went down last night at Compound Night Club in Atlanta. Filled with 4-5000 people, I've never seen so many crazy costumes in my life. My camera broke in my bag so I stole some pics from my friends camera. He missed out on some serious costumes, but this one took the cake.

The dragons neck actually moves in a wavy motion instead of swaying side to side. Not sure who took home the $5000 grand prize, but he was a good candidate. Overall the party was crazy. Part 2 is goin' down tonight at Velvet Room. All the VIP tables are completely sold out, so another crazy party is about to go down. Day light savings may kick my ass though. GOOD LUCK TO ME. :D

See some people have more hope than I do. The day the Thrashers win the cup is when I start wearing depends to my lawn bowling tournaments. But then again, having one of the best players in the NHL (Ilya Kovalchuk) is a better bet than how the Maple Leafs look right now. They are on a transition stage at the moment, but on the right path to rebuilding a great team for the future. I swear that the Toronto Maple Leafs will raise the Stanley Cup before I die, I guarantee it.

My first Atlanta Thrashers game in the ATL was fun. Thanks to Josh we got half off on $50 tix on the never ending NOSE BLEED seats. I was suprised that tix are so expensive in a non-hockey town. I thought seats would of been cheap, but I was wrong. The Thrashers lost 7-0 to Philly LOL. Brutal.

My grandfather was in world war 2, I still remember the bullet scar on his stomached that grazed him during battle. You start to appreciate life more when you learn about our history and realize how much our ancestors unknowingly sacrificed for us to live in a more civilized world. Like most people, war is not for me. I'm a LOVER :D. But to relieve my frustrations, I kill people in video games lol. I'm Japanese, we made this shiet!...since Super Mario revolutionized it, I've been there. Yes I was there for the Atari days too, but common, my friend in computer class in grade 9 made a better version of Pac Man from scratch in 1 hour lol..Anyways, to all that know me, I'm a gamer. Shooting games are my thing, and playing Call of Duty 4 on Xbox with my friends, or little kids talking down to me from across the country is one of the things I do on my free time. CALL OF DUTY 5 : WORLD AT WAR comes out November 11, 2008 :D...I'll be in line!!

As a frequent flyer, I've been in scary situations as well. 5 min of turbulence feels like a eternity, but 30 min of TURBULENCE over the Atlantic with women screaming in the background for more effect?????!??!!?!?!?!..felt like a eternity of torture. The worst story I've heard so far by a person I knew was when they were flying over Taiwan, and a lightning bolt completely blew off one half of the wing. He thought it was over, but the pilot was able to land. CRAZY. I cannot imagine what AM and Barker went though, but DAMN!! I'm glad they are OK..and R.I.P. to the fallen.

Originally garden/kitchen shoes, it moved on to the streets as well. I wear 'em when errands need to be done, going to my hockey games, etc.. 2 days ago, I was driving to the club with my CROCS on. In the courses I took, it helped me realize how and why the Afro-Americans got pushed down to the south, how slaves from Africa were not only forced to come, but most chose to come knowing the better/new opportunities in THE NEW WORLD (USA), Lincoln assasination, Neil Armstrong and the moonwalk, the slaughter of the Native Indians (which I believe was the worst thing that ever happened in the US), and so on. But then again who knows the real truth. I think we are only taught things on a need to know basis anyways.

Learning the history of anything interests me. Whether it's about American history, Religion, or even where the origin of the word FUCK and SHIT came from. School always blew goats unless the subject interests us. When people become teachers, I don't think they realize what responsibility they have to really TEACH. Robert Wuhl is a comedian/actor who redefined HISTORY CLASS. Not only does he make it interesting and actually entertaining, he actually tells the myths and truths about American History. It's actually pretty funny how when we are taught certain things through school, or our natural upbringings, ignorance is bliss, but in reality if you really look into it, there maybe another truth behind it all. Is MILK really good for you because our moms made us to believe so? What was the Vietnam war really about? Was Christopher Columbus really the first person to discover the US? Was Paul Revere the actual guy who warned the Americans about the British invasion? Wuhl has several different classes, but this one was the only one I could find for you.

So if anyone wants a crash course on US History, or a brush up on their own country, then Assume The Position by Robert Wuhl is for you. Screw it...just watch it regardless!

FYI - In 1945, Fortune magazine named Betty Crocker from General Mills the 2nd most popular American woman. Eleanor Roosevelt was named 1st. According to Wuhl's class, he says Betty Crocker didn't even exist. She was a fictional character. All this time I thought she was a sweet little old lady that made desserts for a living that exploded into a empire. The name Betty was selected because it was viewed as a cheery, All-American name. It was paired with the last name Crocker, in honor of William Crocker, a Washburn Crosby Company director. A actor was hired to be Betty Crocker for the TV interviews, and radio shows. The Betty Crocker Radio Show apparently had as many listeners across the nation as the first episode of American Idol. Now that's a lot of people supporting a fictional character. Amazing!

It's Not A Free World After All.....

I still remember the first bill i ever had. It was a PAGER bill from BELL MOBILITY when I was 16 years old. I think it was only $20 bucks plus tax a month or something lol. Now it has escalated to my SUV, house mortgage, car fuel, gas for the house, water, electrical, sanitation, car insurance, grocery, cell phone, cable, internet, house alarm, and I can go on for days. Well who said 'MONEY AINT EVERYTHING'?? Well they maybe right, but IT's STILL SOMETHING. lol. Well the point I'm trying to make is that, to make this world go round in a somewhat civil way thanks to our great MONETARY SYSTEM (I'm being sarcastic btw), everyone needs to be employed to contribute for survival and to pay for things they want, need and owed because of debt. Well that's obvious, but other than that after all our hard work, I also had the understanding of paying INCOME TAX will help organize our civilization more, even though we deserve to keep all our money. You know maybe give some tax money to the homeless, welfare, keep the city clean, government funded projects, education, health care, violence off the streets, etc. Living in Canada, FREE HEALTH CARE is what I took advantage of, so I didn't mind paying my taxes every year. Now living in the US, seems like it's a different story. Ever thought of where all the tax money goes to? I mean not just your income tax, but the tax you pay when you fill up gas in your car, buy groceries, or buy a product of some sort, etc. All that commercial tax you pay for goes straight into the country's necessities already, so what is the INCOME TAX for then?..Well, Sherry Jackson former IRS Agent has some info for you Americano's!

At the end of the day, we have to PAY TO LIVE in this world, so I guess it's not a free world after all...
